Day and Night Shades

There are a lot of benefits to choosing a dual-function shade over a standard one. When you choose a day and night shade, you get a little bit more than the usual functionality. Choosing a shade that has multiple functions gives you infinitely more flexibility in regard to light and privacy.

Day and night shades have similar but slightly different benefits. While these only raise and lower from the usual bottom opening, day and night shades are actually two shades in one. You can switch from one panel of the shade to another by operating it like you would a typical cordless cellular shade or have a little bit of each panel visible. We’ve seen them used in every type of room, but day and night shades are especially popular in bedrooms, where you may not be able to decide between light filtering or blackout window treatments. 

While most of our customers will choose to have one blackout shade and one light filtering or sheer shade, you can choose any two cellular materials for either side. If you know that you will only use a blackout shade but want to make a statement with two colors in one window treatment, this is a great option. Similarly, if you’re looking for a simple window treatment that lets a lot of light into the space, you could choose light filtering and sheer panels. Day and night shades allow for maximum versatility in your window treatment.
